Angelina Jolie
Why I decided to have a baby
"Angelina Jolie has always said she wanted to adopt children from all over the world – but she opened up to the idea of having a biological child after she met Brad Pitt, she says in a revealing new interview.
Jolie already had two kids, son Maddox, now 5, adopted from Cambodia, and daughter Zahara, 2, from Ethiopia, when she became pregnant with daughter Shiloh, who turns 1 on May 27. Asked in the June issue of Reader's Digest if the pregnancy was intentional, Jolie, 31, says: "It was.
"Before I met Brad, I always said I was happy never to have a child biologically. He told me he hadn't given up that thought. Then, a few months after Z came home, I saw Brad with her and Mad, and I realized how much he loved him, that a biological child would not in any way be a threat. So I said, 'I want to try.' "
Jolie, who stars in the new movie A Mighty Heart, also opens up about her relationship with Pitt, 43, why she decided to welcome a fourth child (son Pax, 3, whom she adopted from Vietnam in March) and more. Some highlights:
On how she went from single mom of one to part of a family of six in just three years: "I met this amazing person, and we realized we had very similar views on how we wanted to live our lives. It's happened quickly, with so many children. Yesterday, picking up the kids from school, Brad turned around in the car, and there were three of them. He couldn't stop laughing."
On deciding to adopt a toddler from Vietman: "As kids get older, it's harder for them to be adopted. ... Something changed for me with Shiloh. We had Mad and Z, and neither looked like Mommy or Daddy. Then suddenly somebody in the house looked like Mommy and Daddy. It became clear to us that it might be important to have somebody around who is similar to the other children so they have a connection. Mad's very excited that his brother is from Asia."
On her wanting more children: "Yeah, yeah. More biological, more adopted."
On finding quality time with Pitt: "Right now, that's our problem! We hang out. We try to talk over the swing set. We'll have a date night once everybody is settled. ... Especially now with Pax, he still gets scared if I'm gone more than a few hours. But we'll get them occupied with a movie and popcorn and try to run off and lock the door for a bit."
On what Pitt finds sexy about her: "I could be dressed up in the sexiest outfit for a photo shoot, and by his behavior, he'll let me know that's nice, but it's nothing as sexy as when I'm home surrounded by the kids or reading books, educating myself."
Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp talks about Daughter's illness
"Johnny Depp has spoken for the first time about his daughter's hospitalization earlier this year.
"It gave us a great scare," the actor, 43, tells Britain's Daily Mirror. "It was a very bumpy patch, but she has come through it beautifully and unscathed, and she is now as healthy as she always was. She is wonderful."
Lily-Rose, Depp's 7-year-old daughter with French actress-singer Vanessa Paradis, 34, was hospitalized in London while Depp was in England filming Sweeney Todd, although a studio rep told PEOPLE at the time: "We have adjusted the schedule to accommodate [Depp's] needs at this moment."
In early March, Depp's rep said in a statement: "We are happy to report that their daughter is doing much better. The family greatly appreciates the continued support and respect of their privacy."
"What got us through this wasn't the strength of Vanessa or me but our daughter and her incredible ability to make us feel okay even though she was very unwell," Depp tells the Daily Mirror. "She was super-strong." He did not disclose the cause of Lily-Rose's illness.
Depp and Paradis also have a son, Jack, 5. The actor spoke to the paper while in London promoting Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
Depp admits that the blockbuster film series, in which he stars as Captain Jack Sparrow, has been a boon for his career and his family.
"I was the guy who had been bouncing around the film industry for years, and I'd been lucky if five or 10 people would see my movies, so Captain Jack did a big flip for my career," he says. "[It has] afforded me and my family a certain luxury in that we are able to live a little more comfortably and it will be something that will reverberate for my kids and their kids."
He says he and Paradis have learned from the scare with Lily-Rose. "It was a reminder to us of how lucky we are," he says, "to be able to breathe, walk, talk, think and surround ourselves with people we love."
Sheryl Crow
Sheryl Crow Adopts a boy
"Sheryl Crow has adopted a 2-week-old boy, the singer announced on her Web site.
The child was given the first name Wyatt, after Crow's father, and the middle name Steven, after both her younger brother Steven Crow and manager Steven "Scooter" Weintraub, she said on her site.
"We are enjoying some very private family time," Crow wrote.
The singer's rep gave no other details except that the child was born in the United States.
The announcement came after Crow, 45, wrapped up a Stop Global Warming college tour – a vegetable oil-powered bus tour with An Inconvenient Truth producer Laurie David of 11 campuses to inform students about climate issues.
Now, her rep tells PEOPLE, "She's just going to take some time off to be a mom."
The adoption caps an emotional stretch for Crow. She split with Lance Armstrong in February 2006 and was diagnosed with breast cancer that same month (she has since successfully completed treatment).
Now single, Crow recently told a rodeo crowd: "I'm looking for a cowboy."

Justin Timberlake
"Justin Timberlake vowed to "break the slime barrier" at Saturday's 20th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards – and the show's host sure did deliver the green goo.
Timberlake, who won the award for favorite male singer, was slimed both at the beginning and end of the show.
During the opening number, Timberlake, dressed in a tuxedo and an orange scarf, sang: "You'll never get a drop of slime on old J.T." – but was soon covered with it.
Other stars who got drenched with the green stuff included Mandy Moore, Tobey Maguire, Steve Carell, Vince Vaughn, Chris Tucker, and Jackie Chan. Even Nicole Kidman got slightly slimed when she accepted the award for the animated movie Happy Feet. (The actress, who voiced a character in the film, was there on behalf of the film's director, George Miller.)
The show, which featured performances by Gwen Stefani and Maroon 5, also included a daredevil bungee jump by stuntman Ron Jones, who plunged into a giant vat of green slime from a height of 225 feet.
Early in raucous show, Charlotte's Web star Dakota Fanning won for favorite female movie star and the Black Eyed Peas won for favorite musical group.
"I consider all of you my friends!" said Fanning, who was presented with the award by Blades of Glory stars Will Ferrell and John Heder.
Other awards went to Ben Stiller, who took home the night's top honor, the Wannabe Award, Adam Sandler for favorite male film actor and American Idol for favorite TV show. Idol judges Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul were on hand to accept the award.
Randy asked Paula, "Where's Simon?" Paula responded, to much squealing from the crowd, "Who cares?"
Sandler, who won for favorite male movie star in 2003 and 2005 as well, accepted the award while speaking in his Happy Gilmore voice and thanked the crowd "for not making fun of me for talking like this every speech I do."
In one of the show's famous gross-out moments Heroes stars Hayden Panettiere and Masi Oka announced Drake Bell of Josh and Drake as the winner of Nickelodeon's favorite TV actor by picking out the "world's largest booger" from a giant nose.
As for burping champion, Timberlake lost the the title after he was challenged by the entire 12,000-person crowd to a burp-off. Together, everyone at the Pauley Pavilion – with the help of some special effects – defeated the singer with a massive ensemble burp.
"Tonight I went head-to-head with every kid in the audience and I don't know if I stood a chance," Timberlake said backstage after the show. "They came in strong and I gave it a go but it just wasn't good enough."
At the end of the evening, Timberlake, with the help of Vince Vaughn, used a "detonator" to release a giant surge of slime that came up through the floor, spraying the actors and much of the audience.
Awards are determined by kids who vote to pick the winners. Approximately 40 million votes were cast this year, according to Nickelodeon."
Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton Drops Her Appeal
"Paris Hilton has dropped an appeal of her 45-day jail sentence, a Los Angeles Superior Court spokeswoman confirms to PEOPLE, indicating the heiress is now prepared to do her time.
"I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation," Hilton previously said in a statement on May 9.
Hilton, 26, filed a notice of appeal shortly after a judge sentenced her for violating her probation for driving with a suspended license.
Hilton has until June 5 to turn herself in to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif.
On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department announced that Hilton would spend a minimum of 23 days in jail, after speculation arose that she might serve as little as one day, due to overcrowding at the facility.
"She will do her full time, minus 22 days, because of a state jail policy encouraging good inmate behavior," Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore told PEOPLE.
Whitmore confirms that Hilton will be placed in "special needs housing," a section of the jail reserved for high-profile prisoners, such as former police officers or public officials who could be targeted by other inmates. She will have little to no contact with the general inmate population.
Hilton will be locked in a 12-by-8-foot cell approximately 22 hours a day, minus one hour of recreation time and 20 minutes each for three meals. She will also likely have a cellmate, Whitmore adds.
Hilton's rep did not return calls for comment."
